Clomid (Clomiphene Citrate) is used in bodybuilding by athletes who take steroids as an anti-estrogen. Some of the testosterone-derived anabolic steroids convert to estrogen in the body, resulting in increased female genital levels, increased male breast size, and fluid retention in the body. Excess fluid in the tissues causes an increase in blood pressure and masks muscle relaxation.

Clomid penetrates, blocks the receptors associated with estrogen and prevents the appearance of undesirable effects caused by high levels of female sex hormones. The drug reduces the likelihood of gynecomastia, but does not prevent fluid retention in the body.

While taking steroids, the body stops making its own testosterone so it can start making it again, which can take up to 12 months. To speed up this process, take Clomid. Once in the body, the drug stimulates the production of gonadotropin, which activates the biosynthesis of testosterone.

If you do not take the drug, then due to the low level of testosterone in the body, the level of hydrocortisone increases, which leads to the rapid accumulation of adipose tissue and the destruction of muscle tissue.

Reception scheme

The way Clomid is taken in bodybuilding depends on whether it is taken during or after a steroid cycle.

If the athlete takes steroids, Clomid should be taken at a daily dose of 50 mg to reduce estrogenic side effects.

If the drug does not help, the dose should not be increased, as it will most likely be ineffective.

After a course of steroids in PCT (post cycle therapy), the drug is drunk according to the following scheme:

Reception scheme
  • Within 1-2 weeks, Clomid is drunk in a daily dose of 100-150 mg
  • Within 3-4 weeks, the daily dose can vary from 50 to 100 mg
  • For 5-6 weeks, the daily dose is 50 mg
  • The duration of taking Clomid in PCT can vary from 1 to 1.5 months

To check the effectiveness of the drug during post-cycle therapy, you can donate blood to determine the amount of testosterone.

When taking anabolic steroids, androgen levels are extremely high, so the body does not have to synthesize its own substances. The hypothalamus stops telling the pituitary gland to produce hormones. As long as the concentration of the substances taken in from the outside in the body is at its maximum, Clomid cannot stimulate the body. The drug can only be taken during a steroid cycle as an anti-estrogenic agent.

The drug is prohibited for pregnant and lactating mothers. Women of childbearing potential when appointing Clomid must ensure that there is no pregnancy.
